Beyonce Rocks Philly At Budweiser’s Made in America Festival 2013

(PCM) Although Jay-Z did not join her (he was in the audience) for 2003's Crazy In Love, Beyonce rocked Philly with her bold hello - "Philly, welcome to Made in America, Now y’all are watchin’ the Mrs. Carter show." Pop Culture Madness was there both days, with complete coverage of the annual event!

With a  new haircut and a variety of sexy costume changes, Beyonce opened her set with “Run The World (Girls)” and closed with “Halo” – with a strong set of her greatest hits in-between, including a house-stopping cover of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You.”

Her 90 minute show was non-stop and showcased a bit of alter ego, Sasha Fierce as well as her new wavy blonde bob, which did not seem to interfere with her performance, despite concerns from her choreographer.

Beyonce teased the crowd and subtly challenged them to sing along, a bit stronger as the performance progressed. There were intermittent breaks with impressive performances by France’s Les Twins and pianist Rie Tsuji, and her show grew even stronger in her second set. Last year’s “Halo” ended the show with a rain of golden glitter falling on the 50,000-strong audience.

Of course her set was well-practiced – it has been pretty set in stone for  Mrs. Carter’s current tour -  but Beyonce  let everyone know that Saturday night was strictly between her and her Philly audience. Simply put, she gave a performance worthy of headlining The Budweiser Made in America Festival  Day One in Philadelphia.

Set List: Run the World (Girls), End Of Time, If I Were A Boy, Baby Boy, Diva, Naughty Girl, Party Why Don’t You Love Me, 1+1, Irreplaceable, Love On Top, Countdown, Crazy In Love, Single Ladies, I Will Always Love You and Halo.
