Ground Floor Coming To TBS

Ground0(TBS) Set in the modern world of corporate America, Ground Floor centers on Brody (Skylar Astin), a young hot-shot banker who thought he was just having a one-night stand with Jennifer (Briga Heelan), a beautiful woman he met at an office party. He discovers, however, that she works in the maintenance department for the building where his bank– Remington Trust – is located. Suddenly their worlds begin to collide in the most unexpected ways. Facing Brody’s critical boss, Mr. Mansfield (John C. McGinley), as well as annoyed colleagues, the pair must find a way to deal with their growing feelings for each other in this modern take on Romeo & Juliet. The first episode airs November 14th.

Starring as Jennifer’s co-workers in the building’s maintenance office are Rory Scovel (Zach Stone is Going to be Famous) as Harvard, a know-it-all who’s secretly enamored with her; James Earl (Glee) as Derrick, a guy who is tough on the outside, but a pussy cat on the inside and always looks out for his friends; and Alexis Knapp (Pitch Perfect) as Tori, a sexy young woman who loves to hit the clubs every night and catch up on her sleep at work. In addition, Rene Gube (Upright Citizens Brigade) stars as Brody’s colleague Threepeat, a competitive go-getter who’s not quite as shallow as he seems.Ground01

Brody Moyer
Skylar Astin
Brody is a smart, driven, Ivy League-educated perfectionist who’s fiercely competitive at everything he does. He’s being groomed to follow in the footsteps of his boss, Remington Stewart Mansfield, but things go off the rails when he meets Jenny, who works in the maintenance department downstairs. Now he’s torn between pleasing the boss he looks up to and the girl he’s falling for as he discovers there’s more to life than that next step up the corporate ladder.

Jenny Miller
Briga Heelan
Fun, beautiful, painfully honest and the first person in her family to get a job that comes with dental insurance, Jenny is the boss of the ground floor building support team, and that’s just fine with her. She works to live, not the other way around. She simply doesn’t understand the appeal of the 100-hour work week for the dog-eat-dog world upstairs. She is, however, a big fan of Brody.

Remington Stewart Mansfield
John C. McGinley
Remington Stewart Mansfield is a self-made man, from a long line of self-made men. Head of Remington Trust, he expects a lot from his team, but even more for himself. Mansfield is a fitness nut and alpha male. He also loves a good quote, especially one of his own. A devoted family man who is surrounded by women at home, Mansfield has always wanted a son. And he wants Brody to be that son.

Mark “Harvard” Shrake
Rory Scovel
Mark Shrake, a one-man knot of insecurity and undeserved confidence, is known around the office as Harvard, because he’s the only one on the ground floor who went to college – community college. Now he’s the building’s IT guy and likes to think that gives him power over the upstairs guys. It doesn’t. He has always hated the people who work upstairs, but he now has an extra reason to hate Brody, who is now dating the girl Harvard has always loved.

Mike “Threepeat” Wen
Rene Gube
Smart, competitive and almost as shallow as he seems, Mike “Threepeat” Wen grew up with strict parents who left him never feeling good enough. So, yes, he may blow all his money on matching jet skis, or hit on every woman he sees, but it’s just so he’ll get some attention. The truth is he may never have actually hooked up. Threepeat would love to be Mansfield’s favorite, but since Brody already has that spot, he’s going for the next best thing: being Brody’s insanely loyal best friend.

Derrick Dupree
James Earl
A big-hearted, good-natured teddy bear who’s completely incapable of deception, Derrick Dupree is in charge of office supplies, so he’s the guy who can get things. He loves his friends, loves being a part-time DJ and loves his job. Derrick looks after his nephew whenever he can help his sister out. He’s also fiercely protective of Jenny, Tori and even Harvard. He actually has bit of a puppy-dog crush on Tori.

Tori
Alexis Knapp
The fun, uninhibited Tori comes with two gears, sleep and very awake. She’s done more living in the past 10 years than most people do in 40. A reformed party girl, she’s slowed down a lot from what she’d call her youth. Even though she has given up dating, she loves to hit the town with her ever-growing gay posse. Their escapades have turned Tori – aka @neverendingtori – into a minor social media celebrity in the Bay Area.

“The New Office” – Thursday, Nov. 21, at 10 p.m. (ET/PT)
When a new office opens up on the top floor, Brody will do what it takes to beat out Threepeat to get it. Jenny doesn’t like this competitive streak in Brody, who then gives the downstairs crew something worth fighting over to prove everybody gets competitive. “The Gift” – Thursday, Dec. 5, at 10 p.m. (ET/PT)
Brody tries to buy the perfect gift for Jenny, but as Mansfield says, “What do you get for the girl who has nothing?”  Brody’s extravagant gift turns the downstairs gang against him and makes Jenny feel uncomfortable instead of flattered. Threepeat over-extends himself to buy matching jet skis and is now desperate for a bonus he’s not sure he’s going to get.
