Back Lot Records will release the soundtrack for Oblivion, Universal Pictures’ upcoming action-adventure starring Tom Cruise, on April 9, 2013. The Oblivion Original Motion Picture Soundtrack features new music by Anthony Gonzalez of M83 and Joseph Trapanese (TRON: Uprising, The Raid: Redemption). The score features a hybrid of the traditional M83 electronic sound combined with sweeping orchestral elements. It has 16 score cues, along with a brand new song by M83 featuring Norwegian singer-songwriter Susanne Sundfør used as the end title for the film, which will release everywhere and in all formats on Friday, April 19, 2013.

About the soundtrack:
Songs of Anarchy: Volume 2‘s highlights include Jane’s Addiction’s riveting new take on the Rolling Stones’ late-’60s anthem “Sympathy for the Devil” (Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro also guest stars in the last two episodes of the current season). Also prominent on the album are a distinctive new reading of Iggy Pop’s “The Passenger” by Alison Mosshart (The Kills, The Dead Weather), and a heart-tugging rendition of Lulu’s classic ballad “To Sir with Love” by noted actress/singer Katey Sagal, who co-stars in the show. The song was chosen for Sagal by the show’s creator, Kurt Sutter.
The album also includes several compelling new re-workings of time-honored songs, including Stevie Wonder’s “Higher Ground” by frequent Sons of Anarchy performer Franky Perez, the gospel standard “The Unclouded Day” interpreted by Oklahoma-bred Audra Mae, and two collaborations between SoA house band the Forest Rangers and Portland’s Battleme, “Lights” and “Time.” Finally, there’s a rousing run through of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Travelin’ Band” by Curtis Stigers, who’s also the voice of the series’ main title theme “This Life” and season one’s epic “John the Revelator. ”
