Catching Up With Young Rising Sons At The Budweiser Made In America Festival

(PCM) We were absolutely ecstatic when it was revealed that New Jersey rockers Young Rising Sons were going to be performing at the recent Budweiser Made In America festival held over Labor Day weekend in Philadelphia, PA.  This year’s line-up overall was very rap and hip-hop heavy, so Young Rising Sons had their work cut out form them bringing some straight-up rock n’ roll to the Parkway, but they did so … flawlessly!  The band gathered quite a large crowd and solidified the fact that rock n’ roll is very much alive and well!

Gearing up for the release of their new EP “The Kids Will Be Fine” on Dirty Canvas/Interscope Records, which will drop on Oct 16, Young Rising Sons are also busy prepping for an upcoming North American headline tour! The five song EP includes “Coming Home,” the fan favorite “F**ked Up,” “Flesh and Bone,” “Ghost of Me,” and “Somebody.”

We were able to catch up with Young Rising Sons just after their Made In America performance to chat about the upcoming EP, touring plans, and more!  Check out the full video interview below:

Exclusive Interview With Rap Icon Fabolous At The Budweiser Made In America Festival

(PCM) After his amazing performance on the Liberty Stage at the Budweiser Made In America Festival we caught up with rap icon Fabolous for an exclusive interview to discuss his festival appearance, the current state of the music industry, what projects he is currently involved with and more!

During his Made In America performance, Fabolous definitely had a few surprises tucked up his sleeve as he not only brought out Young Gunz for “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop”, but also Freeway to perform “What We Do” and “Rock The Mic”. The crowd went absolutely wild.

The Perfect Way To End The Weekend With The Weeknd! Made In America Day Two Reaches A Successful Conclusion

(PCM) Music is truly a unifying force that speaks to everyone no matter what their age, race or gender happens to be and seeing the diversity that was represented at this year’s Budweiser Made In America Festival was absolutely magical.  On day one of the festival we caught performances from artists such as Beyonce, Modest Mouse, Bassnectar, De La Soul and Meek Mill w/surprise guest Nicki Minaj and day two provided us with absolutely astounding performances from Halsey, Fabulous, Santigold, Metric, J.Cole, Axwell^Ingrosso and The Weeknd to close out another phenomenal year.

As you can see every genre imaginable was represented and while we would have liked to see just a bit more rock represented on the bill (prior year’s have had a least one bigger rock band headling) this year’s line-up brought fans out in droves and was certainly a rousing success. This year the festival incorporated the TIDAL stage placed in a central location on the festival grounds as a way to showcase up and coming artists featured on Made In America festival curator Jay Z’s streaming music service. On day two we enjoyed afternoon/evening sets from both Bully and Lili K both on the TIDAL stage who are well on their way to both becoming rising stars.

One of of our favorite performances of the day came from New Jersey native Halsey, who debut album “Badlands” recently debuted at number 2 on the Billboard charts!  Currently on tour with The Weeknd, Halsey is sure to be a name on the lips of music fans well into the future … she is amazing! Other noteworthy performances of the day came from rapper Fabulous, rockers Metric, on the rise rap star Future (who happened to have one of the largest crowds of the day at the Liberty Stage), EDM-masters Axwell^Ingrosso who put on literally one of the most explosive shows we’ve ever seen (Big thank you to them for remixing a little Metallica in there and making our little heavy metal hearts swell)  and of course The Weeknd whose sultry yet pop-driven tunes made him our newest musical obsession!

We are always sad when a festival has to come to an end, but we were absolutely thrilled with the sheer amount of talent that was represented at this year’s Budweiser Made In America Festival and as we soaked up the closing notes of The Weeknd’s performance we are already anticipating who will play the City Of Brotherly Love next year.

What’s Good Philly? Made In America Day One Filled With Great Vibes And A Few Surprises!

(PCM)We once again have made the trek to Benjamin Franklin Parkway and nestled ourselves at the foot of the Art Museum to enjoy another year at the Budweiser Made In America festival. As usual BMIA features a beautiful array of eclectic talent that spans every imaginable genre of music. Today, we caught performances from The Struts, Young Rising Sons, Vic Mensa, G-Eazy, De La Soul, Nick Jonas, Meek Mill, Death Cab For Cutie, Modest Mouse, Bassnectar and of course Queen B, herself, Beyoncé.

There is never a dull moment at BMIA and right from the gate The Struts blew us away with the high-energy and deliciously sleazy rock n’ roll show! If these guys are not on your music radar than they really should be! We seriously could have watched them perform all day long…Sorry Bey! It was also fantastic to have the chance to kick it a little bit old school with De La Soul! What a fun time seeing this group perform live as they have been on our bucket list for quite sometime. The afternoon also brought us phenomenal sets from Young Risings Sons and Nick Jonas. This is the first time we have seen Nick Jonas live and he absolutely blew us away churning through his extensive catalog of hits.

The biggest surprise of the day came near the end rapper Meek Mills performance when none other than his girlfriend Nicki Minaj joined him on stage to perform the song “All Eyes On You”!
She hypnotized the audience with a simple “What’s good Philly?” reminiscent of her recent sentiments to 2015 VMA host Miley Cyrus during MTV’s live broadcast of the award show when calling Cyrus for allegedly slamming her in the press.

As we got into the evening, things slowed down a bit with performances from Death Cab For Cutie and Modest Mouse. Death Cab For Cutie held their own in a crowd that consisted mostly of hip-hop and EDM fans, however we found Modest Mouse to be a bit on the boring side. We truly wish there could have been a more solid rock headliner, but they certainly did their best to hold the audiences attention.

To close out the evening and amp up the energy we saw performances from the always engaging Bassnectar and of course Queen B, herself, Beyonce!  Beyonce absolutely stunned and put on a powerhouse performance as usual!  She was without a doubt the days most anticipated performer and plowed through her extensive catalog of hits opening with “Crazy In Love (50 Shades Remix)” and closing out with “Single Ladies”.
