We now have something solid to go on, and so far it seems the hype is true. Here is the official synopsis of the film:

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier.

With a release date of April 2014, we still have some time before we see the Captain back on the big screen, but it looks like it will be worth the wait.

Aaron-Taylor Johnson Top Contender for Avengers 2

(PCM) Marvel officially kicked off Phase 2 the Marvel universe this Summer with Iron Man 3. We will shortly be seeing Thor back in theaters this November, and Captain America returns to the big screen this April. We now also have a confirmed release date and title for Joss Wheadons’ highly anticipated Avengers sequel. With the announcement of Avengers:Age of Ultron hittinh theaters May 1st, 2015, Wheadon has also confirmed 2 new additional heroes will be joining the cast; Brother-Sister team up, QuickSilver and Scarlet Witch. Although we know little about the female casting at this time, it has been confirmed that Kick-Ass star Aaron Johnson is in top contention for the part.

The British actor has been reluctant to talk about the possibility in the past, but recently has been much more open about the subject. Recently the actor spoke with  Total Film and confirmed that he has been in talks with Marvel Studio. Although nothing has been signed, the actor is very interested in the role, and is doing his research.

When asked about the role of Quicksilver during the interview with  Total Film Johnson says:

“There’s years – over 50 years – of backstory on him all there to use, and I like doing that. Him and his sister [Scarlet Witch] have been abandoned by their parents and their father, and they grew up in Eastern Europe defending and looking out for themselves and each other… His sister really is his guidance – emotionally she’s the one who looks after him, and vice versa. He’s very overprotective physically – he doesn’t want anyone touching her.”

This movie is still 2 years away, but there is plenty of speculation surrounding the film, even this early in development. Right now the only thing we know for sure involving QuickSilver is that Aaron-Taylor Johnson is talking to Marvel. Marvel Studios Ends Comic-Con 2013 Panel With Avengers Sequel Announcement!

Age-Of-Ultron1(PCM) The Marvel Studios panel at Comic-Con is always known to create quite a buzz and this year was no exception. After discussing news and having the casts of both “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” and “Guardians Of The Galaxy” on stage to discuss their respective upcoming films “Avengers” director Joss Whedon uttered the words “Age of Ultron” and the room went wild! It appears that within the Marvel film universe the “Iron Man”, “Thor”, and “Captain America” sequels will tie directly into “Avengers: Age Of Ultron”

This announcement of course led to a ton of speculation buzzing around the room, as the footage that was shown to accompany the announcement resembled the Iron Man helmet transformed into the Ultron symbol featured in the comic book classics. Whedon has previously stated that the “Avengers” sequel will be quite a bit darker than the first film. It is just too bad that we have to wait until 2015 to see this film come to fruition!

In other Marvel universe news, it seems that the new TV series “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D” will also tie in with the film’s as the show features Agent Coulson, played by Clark Gregg, who makes a return from the dead to lead S.H.I.E.L.D in the investigations of superheros. It is unclear if Agent Coulson will be appearing in “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” as Joss Whedon is still toying around with the idea, but we should still keep an eye out from some cross overs between the film franchise and the new TV series, just not sure in what capacity at this time.
