(PCM) Universal Pictures dropped two new trailers, a theatrical and an international trailer, for Guillermo del Toro’s supernatural mystery, Crimson Peak, opening in 2D and IMAX theaters nationwide October 16.
Starring Tom Hiddleston (The Avengers, Only Lovers Left Alive), Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty, The Help), Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland, Stoker), and Charlie Hunnam (Pacific Rim, Sons of Anarchy), Crimson Peak comes from the screenplay by director Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth, Pacific Rim) and Matthew Robbins (Mimic, The Sugarland Express).
The official synopsis reads: “When her heart is stolen by a seductive stranger, a young woman is swept away to a house atop a mountain of blood-red clay: a place filled with secrets that will haunt her forever. Between desire and darkness, between mystery and madness, lies the truth behind Crimson Peak.”
From the trailers, it’s clear that Mia Wasikowska plays the young woman, swept away by Tom Hiddleston, the seductive stranger. It’s also clear that the synopsis is holding something major back, like an insanely haunted house filled with more than just secrets; rotting corpses pulling themselves out of the floors and large locked vats containing some unknown horrors are among just a few of the terrifying secrets of Crimson Peak.
The new trailers boasts beautiful costumes and a dark foreboding atmosphere, check them out below!
