(PCM) It’s been fifteen years since the release of David Wain’s summer camp satire Wet Hot American Summer and we’re finally being treated to a sequel! In the form of a series!
Netflix announced the development of the series, consisting of eight 30-minute episodes, today with the release of an announcement teaser.
The teaser comes straight from the end of Wet Hot American Summer when all of the camp counselors are gathering for their last meeting of the summer, and succinctly sums up the straight-forward premise of the sequel.
“Let’s all promise that in ten years from today, we’ll meet again, and we’ll see what kind of people we’ve blossomed into,” suggests Ben (Bradley Cooper).
Wet Hot American Summer: 10 Years Later will most likely follow the same format as the prequel series, Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, where the first day of camp was chronicled over eight 30-minute episodes.
Wet Hot American Summer: 10 Years Later is scheduled to premiere on Netflix in 2017 and will be written by Michael Showalter and David Wain with Wain directing.
(PCM) The first official trailer for the much-talked about reboot of Ghostbusters is finally here and reactions are mixed to say the least.
The reboot, written and directed by Bridesmaids‘ Paul Feig, is a fresh take on the classic supernatural comedy starring Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids), Melissa McCarthy (Spy), Kate McKinnon (Saturday Night Live), and Leslie Jones (Saturday Night Live) as the titular Ghostbusters.
The trailer, clocking in at over two-and-a-half minutes, introduces the new Ghostbusters squad and reveals that ghastly ghouls and apparitions have been popping up all over New York City.
Ghostbusters stars Kristen Wiig as Erin Gilbert, resident quantum physics expert; Kate McKinnon as Jillian Holtzmann, brilliant engineer; Melissa McCarthy as Abby Yates, paranormal investigator; and Leslie Jones as Patty Tolan, New Yok City employee turned paranormal investigator.
Ghostbusters also stars Charles Dance (The Imitation Game), Michael Kenneth Williams (12 Years a Slave), and Chris Hemsworth (Thor).
Written by Paul Feig and Katie Dippold (The Heat) and directed by Paul Feig, Ghostbusters is based on the 1984 film written by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis and directed by Ivan Reitman.
As of writing this, the trailer has over 2.5 million views, and while some commenters are expressing their excitement for the reboot, many are crying foul and downvoting the trailer on YouTube. Right now, there are 50,164 thumbs up on the trailer on Youtube and 74,317 thumbs down
Right now, there are 50,165 thumbs up on the trailer on Youtube and 74,317 thumbs down. Many voters claim they gave the trailer a thumbs down not because of its female-led cast, but because the trailer itself doesn’t look good/do the original franchise justice.
Personally, I thought the trailer looked promising and not anywhere horrible as some of the YouTube commenters on the video would have you believe.

(PCM) Almost two years after their epic falling-out, Seth Rogen, Rose Bryne, and Zac Efron are back to their scheming ways, this time teaming up against a new sorority on campus, in the first trailer for Universal Pictures’ Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising.
Returning stars Seth Rogen, Zac Efron and Rose Byrne are joined by Chloë Grace Moretz for Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, the follow-up to 2014’s most popular original comedy. Nicholas Stoller again directs in a film that follows what happens when the will of parenthood goes against the bonds of sisterhood.
Now that Mac (Rogen) and Kelly Radner (Byrne) have a second baby on the way, they are ready to make the final move into adulthood: the suburbs. But just as they thought they’d reclaimed the neighborhood and were safe to sell, they learn that the new occupants next door are a sorority even more out of control than Teddy (Efron) and his brothers ever dreamed of being.
Tired of their school’s sexist, restrictive system, the unorthodox ladies of Kappa Nu have decided to start a house where they can do whatever the hell they want. When Shelby (Moretz) and her sisters, Beth (Kiersey Clemons) and Nora (Beanie Feldstein), find the perfect place just off campus, they won’t let the fact that it’s located on a quiet street stand in their way of parties as epic as the guys throw.
Forced to turn to the one ex-neighbor with the skills to bring down the new Greeks next door, the Radners—alongside best friends Jimmy (Ike Barinholtz) and Paula (Carla Gallo)—bring in charismatic Teddy as their secret weapon. If he can infiltrate the sorority and charm his way through it, the thirtysomethings will shutter the Kappas’ home. But if they think that their neighbors are going down without a fight, they have severely underestimated the power of youthful ingenuity and straight-up crazy.
