The incident took place at a Beverly Hills chiropractor’s office where paparazzi were swarming around Kim Kardashian. The 18 year old Beverly Hills man supposedly yelled racial slurs at the paparazzi before Kim asked him not to use those derogatory terms.
The man then yelled at Kardashian, claiming he was just trying to help her out and called her a “N****r Lover.” According to witnesses, Kanye West then stormed into the chiropractor’s office and punched the man in the face before a massage therapist pulled the two apart, all the while Kim was yelling “We have it all on tape!”
In order to avoid criminal charges, West paid the man a settlement of over $250,000. TMZ postulates that it is very unlikely Kanye will be charged by the D.A. for battery since the victim is now most likely uncooperative (after $250,00, who wouldn’t be?) and the racial slurs thrown at Kim and Kanye would not help the prosecution build a strong case for the jury.
It would seem that 2014 is already off to a tumultuous start for the West/Kardashian household. In 2013, Kanye was charged for battery and attempted grand theft after attacking a paparazzi at LAX, went on several public and widely talked about rants, and had a mishap riddled tour.
Fans and music lovers alike can only hope that Kanye West ditches the antics and returns to his craft. His next album is rumored to have only 8 songs on it and will be produced by Hip Hop legend Q-Tip and Rick Rubin, founder of Def Jam Records.
