Miley Cyrus Takes On Led Zeppelin’s “Babe, I’m Gonna Leave You”

(PCM) Pop superstar Miley Cyrus has definitely been showing quite a bit of genre diversity lately and has just released a Soundcloud link to her cover version of the classic Led Zeppelin hit “Babe, I’m Gonna Leave You”.

Cyrus revealed the cover by tweeting “Check dis sh*t out” with a link that directed fans to Soundcloud. “Babe, I’m Gonna Leave You” was featured on Led Zeppelin’s 1969 debut album and was originally written by folk singer Anne Bredon and has been covered numerous times by a variety of artists over the years.

It has been stated that Zeppelin themselves learned the songs from Joan Baez, however Miley’s recently released version is definitely based on the Zeppelin version. Miley also recently revealed that she teamed up with the Flaming Lips for a Beatles cover album titled “With A Little Help From My Fwends” taking on the classic “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds”.  She also recently mentioned wanting to make an attempt to cover Leonard Cohen’s “I’m Your Man”.

Do you like Miley’s cover? Or should she stick to the pop genre? Personally, we think it’s great, but just wish the audio quality was a little bit cleaner.

Miley Cyrus Asks Fans To Join Her Fight To End Youth Homelessness

(PCM) Miley Cyrus launches Prizeo fundraising campaign and asks fans to join her fight to end youth homelessness. The campaign benefits My Friend’s Place, a drop-in service center in Hollywood that assists and inspires homeless youth to build self-sufficient lives. Cyrus met with youth and staff at My Friend’s Place where she learned about the challenges and potential solutions around the issue of homelessness.

Cyrus also used her big win during last nights MTV Video Music Awards to bring even more attention to this very important cause. Instead of Cyrus coming up to the stage to accept her award, a young man named Jesse stepped up to the stage in her place and made the following hard-hitting speech:

“I am accepting this award on behalf of the 1.6 million runaways and homeless youth in the United States who are starving, lost and scared for their lives right now. I know this because I’m one of these people. I have survived in shelters all over the city. I have cleaned your hotel rooms, I have been an extra in your movies, I have been an extra in your life. Though I have been invisible to you on the streets, I have a lot of the same dreams that brought many of you here tonight. Los Angeles, entertainment capital, has the largest population of homeless youth in America. The music industry will make over $7 billion this year and outside these doors are 54,000 human beings who have no place to call home. If you want to make powerful change in the world right now, please join us and go to Miley’s Facebook page. A dream you dream alone is only a dream, but a dream you dream together is reality. Thank you so much for your time.”

Fans can support the cause by making a donation at between now and September 21. For every $5 donation, fans will be entered to win a chance to meet Cyrus at her upcoming concert on September 28, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The grand prize package includes two tickets, backstage access, hanging out with Miley before the show, as well as airfare and accommodations for two. The campaign will also offer an exclusive, limited-edition t-shirt, with net proceeds benefitting My Friend’s Place.

“I’m just getting started,” said Cyrus, “and I want to make sure my fans are part of helping me to give back and make an impact on this issue – we all have the power to make change happen. This is about helping youth, people just like you and me have the opportunity to find their inner power and potential, no matter what their circumstances.”

An estimated 4,000 homeless youth live in Los Angeles County, many of whom are fleeing abuse or are kicked out of their homes by their guardians. In the U.S., it is estimated that on any given night there are 1 million homeless youth living on the street, in abandoned buildings, with friends or strangers. These youth are at increased risk of engaging in dangerous behaviors, experiencing anxiety and depression, and becoming involved in the criminal justice system.

My Friend’s Place is so grateful for Miley’s genuine interest and involvement in supporting homeless youth in Los Angeles,” said My Friend’s Place Executive Director Heather Carmichael. “By Miley drawing attention to the nation’s homeless youth crisis and the work we are doing locally, we hope to soon be able to expand our services and help even more young people.”

My Friend’s Placeprovides homeless youth with opportunities to improve their psychological, intellectual and physical capacity to reach their potential and build self-sufficient lives. In collaboration with leading social services providers and educational institutions as well as over 500 volunteers, My Friend’s Place offers a free and comprehensive continuum of care that combines emergency necessities with therapeutic, health, employment and education assistance, and creative arts services.

Miley Cyrus Postpones Remainder Of U.S. Tour Dates

(PCM) As reported last week, Miley Cyrus was suffering from a terrible allergic reaction to antibiotics that caused her to cancel several stops on her “Bangerz” tour. Now, it seems that Miley has made the decision to postpone the remainder of the U.S. tour stops and will make-up the dates in August.

The upcoming European leg of the tour is still currently slated to begin in Amsterdam on May 2nd and appears to remain unaffected.

Miley’s U.S. tour will resume on August 1st in Uniondale, NY and the new dates will include seven make-up dates and new additional shows.

A rep for Miley claims that the singer was suffering from a nasty sinus infection and was given the antibiotic cephalexin, to which she had a very scary allergic reaction that landed her in the hospital.

Those that purchased tickets to any of the postponed tour stops can rest assured that their tickets will be honored at the rescheduled show later this summer.

Miley Cyrus Goes Topless And Straddles A Horse In Leaked Single Cover

(PCM) The unedited cover art for Miley Cyrus’s new single which is a remix to “Adore You” has been leaked out. The artwork features a topless Cyrus straddling a horse statue, wearing only a white thong and a raven haired wig and holding a blunt.

Cyrus has certainly not been one to shy away from any controversial acts these days and she is completely comfortable showing off her figure and being in the nude. Cyrus feels that being naked is away of expressing “purity and emotion” The image that has leaked is speculated to be the unedited version of a promo shot that Cyrus tweeted out back in February announcing the remix single’s release.

The promo shot that was originally posted feature a close-up on Cyrus’s face and her chest area was completely cropped out of the shot. There is some speculation that the image was purposefully leaked out to garner some attention for single that has only managed to reach #21 on the Billboard charts.

Cyrus is currently in the midst of her Bangerz tour and has been absolutely delighting fans with her over-the-top and highly energetic performance each and every night.

Miley Cyrus Forced To Perform In Her Underwear At Recent Concert

(PCM) I suppose I was somewhat under the impression that Miley Cyrus generally always performs in nothing but her underwear, at least that is how many of her “costumes” look to me! However, the singer has revealed that apparently there is a difference between costumes that resemble panties and actual panties themselves.

During a stop on her current Bangerz tour in Milwaukee, WI on March 9th, Cyrus was forced to perform her song “23″ wearing only her bra and panties, as she was unable to complete a costume change in enough time. Basically, it was either she perform the song in bra and panties or be forced to cut it from the set.

Obviously, Miley chose to perform the song and it is doubtful that the crowd would have even noticed that her attire was not just another costume had she not gone on Twitter to explain the situation.
