The Mythical Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino Becomes A Reality!

(PCM) Everyone is excited to get their hands on the magical beverage known as the Unicorn Frappuccino from Starbucks. The drink was originally part of the coffee chains “secret menu”, however Starbucks has now revealed that the sweet and sour beverage will be made available for a limited time as a regular menu item.

The bright pink and blue blended beverage has everyone freaking out and it seems that as you continue to drink the Unicorn Frappuccino it will even change colors as you stir it around. The one thing we have to question a little bit is the taste. According to Starbucks,  the Unicorn Frappuccino blended crème is made with a sweet dusting of pink powder, blended into a crème Frappuccino with mango syrup and layered with a pleasantly sour blue drizzle. It is finished with vanilla whipped cream and a sprinkle of sweet pink and sour blue powder topping.

Like its mythical namesake, the Unicorn Frappuccino blended crème comes with a bit of magic, starting as a purple beverage with swirls of blue and a first taste that is sweet and fruity. But give it a stir and its color changes to pink, and the flavor evolves to tangy and tart. The more swirl, the more the beverage’s color and flavors transform.

Some people are already complaining via social media that the sweet and sour tastes do not blend together well, but hey it’s worth it if it look pretty, right? We might have to go grab one just to post pictures online, as we would probably rather look at this enchanting drink rather than actually consume it! Is that wrong?

If you want to catch this mythical beverage before it’s too late, you better hurry as the Unicorn Frappuccino will only be available from April 19 to April 23. We are guessing if it is popular enough then they may decide to make it a more permanent menu item.

Starbucks Unveils New Pastel-Colored Cups For Spring!

(PCM) We could all use a little “spring” in our step after coming out of such a cold and dreary winter, so people were overjoyed with the new pastel-colored cups that Starbucks has unveiled to usher us coffee-lovers into the spring season. The new bright and cheery cups with be available for hot drink orders at all Starbucks locations in the U.S. and Canada beginning on March 16.

The pastel spring cups will only be available for a limited time and the colors available are blue, green and yellow. They also feature large white dots in the center, where adorable designs such as an umbrella, a sun or anytime of symbol can be hand-drawn in by the barista. (Let’s hope they are artistic!)

According to a press release from Starbucks, “After the gray days of winter, there’s nothing quite like those first few bursts of color that indicate the arrival of springtime. Starbucks first began offering seasonal cups more than 20 years ago with its first holiday cup and has since introduced cups celebrating autumn and summer.” This year will mark the first time that the company has introduced a new cup design for the springtime season.

Starbucks is also releasing two new iced and hot macchiato drinks: the Coconutmilk Mocha Macchiato and the Cinnamon Almondmilk Macchiato. Now we have even more reason to hit our local Starbucks this spring! Delicious new drinks and new cups!  It’s a win/win!

Man Claims Ageism After Being Banned From Starbucks For Hitting On A 16-year Old Employee

(PCM) A 37-year old man by the name of Lucas Werner has been banned from the Starbucks location in Spokane, Washington after being accused of hitting on 16-year old female employee and generally just being a creep.  Werner has posted a defense on social media claims that he is the victim of ageism or otherwise discriminated against due to his age.

Werner’s defense claims that he was unfairly banned from the establishment after he innocently requested that the 16-year old female barista accompany him for dinner sometime. He claims that the note he wrote and passed to the young woman was not at all sexual in nature and was completely and utterly harmless.

Starbucks and the barista felt differently and Werner’s actions were reported to the local authorities. Angered by the situation Werner posted the following message on his Facebook page and urged his supporters to call the Starbucks location and complain on his behalf.

For those who would like to call them to complain about age difference discrimination on my behalf. In brief, a barista said I was funny and that she liked me, so I politely thanked her, sat down to drink my hot chocolate, wrote her a nice note, so as not to interrupt her work schedule asking her out to dinner if she was interested and walked out, happily thanking the friendly staff and wishing them a Merry Christmas.
When I returned yesterday, a Spokane Police Officer said the note was creepy, which it wasn’t, and asked me to not return because I was being banned. We already know this is because the barista was young and legal aged and I’m 37.
I did not ask her to have sex with me. I asked if she would like to have dinner sometime. Perfectly normal adult behavior. I figure, if she was 16 and flirtatious it would still be legal to ask her to dinner. You can’t even work at Starbucks unless you’re 16, which is the legal age to date people. This is a clear case of age discrimination. Feel free to call them to complain on my behalf.

It seems, however that Werner’s plan backfired and rather than people rallying to support him they instead wrote tons of positive reviews for the Starbucks location. They praised the management of the store for taking swift action and protecting their young female employee.  Upon further investigation it has been revealed that Werner actually lives in a homeless shelter and this is not the first time he has been accused of behaving inappropriately with a female minor.

Werner runs a website called Conversation Our Age which basically just consists of posting complaining about why younger women won’t date him and all the reasons that he feels they should. It’s really very pathetic.  One post in particular reads:

I haven’t had a girlfriend in 5 years. I’ve never dated a younger woman in my life. I’ve been trying to date younger women for 5 years. I’m an atheist. I’ve given away over $3000 worth of food on the street in 5 years. I moved 400 miles from Olympia to Spokane because I couldn’t find anyone on 4 dating sites. I need to date a Millennial. I’m 37 years old. Generation X marks the spot. I’ve dated women my age to 18 years older. All my exes, mom and step-mom prefer older men to two 30 year marriages between my 4 parents. I’ve lost 170 lbs. I’m looking for a woman under 26 years old in Spokane to go out to dinner with me to Red Robin tonight. Any takers?

Starbucks claims they have no plans to allow Werner to return to their establishment and we certainly praise them for weeding out a definite creeper!

Someone Leaked Starbucks New Holiday Cup Design

(PCM) We are sure that everyone can recall the great Starbucks holiday red cup controversy and all the subsequent memes that followed, so we are hoping that this year’s design which was leaked by a brave barista who hides under the Reddit user name DasUberSquid, will not cause such a huge stir-up.

Starbucks all over the country began receiving shipment boxed that were stamped with a sticker that read “No Peeking until after November 10”, however you know that people (and the internet) cannot help themselves, so of course someone just had to have their peek (and then post it online for us all to see).

The boxes held the new Starbucks holiday cups which always debut in early November. While DasUberSquid revealed that he “peeked”, it is rumored that this design is only one of a few which will make their debut in Starbucks franchises on November 10th!

What do you think?

I peeked.

There Is One Particular Starbucks Where No Names Are Written On Cups, Any Guesses Where It Is?

(PCM) One of the busiest Starbucks locations also happens to be one where the baristas are sworn to secrecy and no names are ever written on cups. It seems the CIA headquarters has it’s very own Starbucks location in Langley, VA. In fact, it is even mysteriously referred to only as “Store Number 1” on customer receipts.

According to one barista, who obviously wishes to remain anonymous, the no names on the cups policy for this particular location is incredibly frustrating as it happens to be an incredibly busy store and the line would move twice as fast if they were allowed to identify their customers. The barista added that often times the line is so long that it wraps around the hallway outside.

It is said that visibly this Starbucks looks exactly the same as all the others, however there are definitely some added security measures. It is a place where the CIA often will conduct job/recruitment interviews and all nine baristas that work in the location had to undergo significant background checks and a particularly in-depth interview process.

They are to tell their bosses immediately if anyone who enters the establishment begins asking too many questions about their job, as they are only allowed to say they work in a federal building. According to the Washington Post, the location is sometimes referred to as “Stealthy Starbucks” and the baristas are accompanied by CIA “minders” if they must leave their work area for any reason during a shift and they are required to leave their smartphones in the car for security purposes. So much for playing a little Candy Crush in their downtime!

One can certainly see why this would be one of the busiest Starbucks locations in the country, as it appears that caffeine and covert operations and analysis seemingly go hand in hand.
