(PCM) Giant Monsters just might be scary again this spring! The new Godzilla trailer is online and shows a larger, more destructive Kaiju (怪獣) ‘Giant Monster’ is on the loose, much more of a menace that when he was first introduced in 1954.
‘Gojira’ is his name in Japanese, basically a mix of gorira (“gorilla”), and kujira (“whale”) in the Japanese language. The creature has often been used as a metaphore, best expressed in Blue Oyster Cult’s lyrics from thier own ‘Godzila’ “History shows again and again How nature points out the folly of men – Godzilla!”
From the extemely worried look on Joe Brody’s (Bryan Cranston) face, we’re anticipating a bit of horror in this monster epic.
Also starring Elizabeth Olsen , Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Sally Hawkins and Juliette Binoche they have amassed quite a bit of star power to the film. Elizabeth and Aaron are also slated to be the brother/sister team of Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver in the highly anticipated Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015.
Watch the two and a half minute trailer below!
Directed by Gareth Edwards, “Godzilla” opens in theaters on May 16, 2014.
(PCM) Coming to theaters this August, the at first unexpected, but now highly anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy is starting the promotion machine. The Guardians of the Galaxy first appeared in comic books in MARVEL SUPER-HEROES #18 (Jan. 1969). Yondu (Michael Rooker) does not appear to be a member of the team, but was in the original comic book group. Fans are expecting a tie-in with galactic evil-doer Thanos, and there are hints that the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be expanding with the introduction of the Nova Corps as well. Fans of Adam Warlock are hoping that he will get into the mix before the inevitable clash with Thanos, as Adam has probably been Thanos’ greatest enemy.
An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe.
To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits–Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon; Groot, a tree-like humanoid; the deadly and enigmatic Gamora; and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer.
