YouTuber Tries To Recreate The ‘Bart Simpson Megaphone Challenge’

(PCM) YouTuber Kevin Kohler, who runs the popular channel TheBackyardScientist, recently made an attempt to recreate the ‘Bart Simpson Megaphone Challenge’ which was inspired by a cult favorite episode of the long running FOX animated series “The Simpsons”. Kohler set up 10 megaphones back to back to see just how loud of a sound he could create.

Kohler explained in the video that the idea for the challenge came to him when he was watching “The Simpson” and saw Bart’s prank from the episode titled “The Secret War Of Lisa Simpson” which aired in season 8 of the series. In the episode, Bart puts 10 megaphones back to back and creates a sound so loud that it led to a shock wave that shattered all of the windows in town, including his father Homer’s full fridge of beer.

Everything started off well for Kohler with the test challenge as he collected and lined up all the megaphone, but what he failed to anticipate was any type of feedback loop. He attempted to rearranged the megaphones to tone down some of the feedback and then shouted into the first one. His sound was not that loud and was pretty much the same as using only one megaphone, as the power sources that make up the megaphones were not strong enough to amplify the sound to the level he anticipated. The sound ended up becoming quite distorted.

Not thrilled with the way the experiment turned out the first time, Kohler and his assisant then decided to move the megaphones into a circular shape and finally created the ear-splitting noise they desired. The feedback loop they measured was 16 times louder than your average vacuum cleaner. You can watch their entire ordeal and the outcome in the video below:

People Are Horrified Over United Airlines Forcibly Removing A Doctor From Overbooked Flight

(PCM) United Airlines has found themselves in hot water once again only a few weeks after #LeggingsGate just about broke the internet where two young ladies were not allowed to board a United flight due to wearing leggings, as the airline claimed it violated the company dress code policy. This time the airline had a passenger, whom witnesses claim is a doctor, forcibly removed from an overbooked flight so that his seat could be given to airline employees who needed to get to the destination city in order to make their next flights.

In this day and age everything you do can be captured by video at any given time, so of course, as the incident was playing out several other passengers on-board the flight whipped out their cell phones and began recording. The entire incident is just horrific and a bit difficult to watch, as there was certainly no need for the airline to use the amount of force that they did to have the man removed, especially for doing absolutely nothing wrong.

The flight was headed from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport to Louisville, KY and was completely full. The airline needed four passengers to volunteer their seats so that the United employees could take them to get to Louisville. United first offered $400 and a free night’s hotel stay for passengers to volunteer to take flight the next day, when they had no takers they upped the deal to $800 and there were still no volunteers. Eventually two passengers agreed to voluntarily give up their seats, however United then let everyone know that the computer would be randomly selecting two other people who had to give up their seats. Somehow this just seems very wrong to us!

Well, the doctor was one of those unlucky people randomly selected by the computer. The man explained to United that he was a doctor and he needed to see patients in Louisville first thing in the morning so he would be unable to give up his seat. This is where things get ugly! Refusing to accept the man’s answer United had security officers forcibly remove the man from his seat and he was then literally dragged off the plane screaming as other passengers looked on in horror.

Not that he should have wanted to after that ordeal, but the man was eventually allowed to re-board the plane and it ended up taking off about two hours behind schedule. We definitely smell another lawsuit for United Airlines over this ordeal … no idea what is going on with them these days!

Everyone Is Angered Over A Man Attempting To Crowdfund An Engagement Ring

(PCM) The internet is up in arms over a man named William Oliver creating a GoFundMe account in an attempt to have everyone help him pay for an engagement ring for his girlfriend, Alexandra. Oliver feels that using crowdfunding as a way to finance the engagement ring is a new and unique approach, but it is definitely leaving a bad taste in just about everyone’s mouth. It probably has a lot to do with the fact that Oliver is not even asking for a reasonable amount of money. He is asking for $15,000 for the ring which is a bit extravagant if you ask us! This is most likely why Oliver has only raised a mere $594 since the GoFundMe campaign has gone live.

If we were in Alexandra’s shoes we would be pretty angered that Oliver was going this very public route to purchase the engagement ring. Plus, how can you put a price tag on true love? If you can’t afford such an expensive ring by yourself then choose a cheaper option. If you are truly in love then the price tag of the ring won’t matter in the least!

The description on the GoFundMe page reads:

In 2017 I have started to realize that teamwork makes our dreams work. After my 30th Birthday, I’ve received alot excitement about it being time to marry her! I couldn’t agree more. She had a really innovative way to show her appreciation by purchasing 30 gifts for my 30th birthday. So I need a more innovative way to show my appreciation while incorporating friends and family.

I’ve decided to get some help by making this a trending approach. This will raise awareness about the difference between the love we share and the love people have for us. Money for the engagement is your chance to get involved. I’ve heard everything from “I Love Yall” to “You need to put a Ring On It” etc etc.

It goes on to further explain:

I’ve decided to utilize GoFundMe to let everybody who loves us show us.

Sometimes we can’t quite afford expensive things by ourselves. A lot of people lean on credit card companies and banks (that overcharge them) so that they appear to do nice things for people they love by themselves.

My approach is a little different. We have friends, family, and colleagues that don’t mind passing up a drink or a sandwich to help out. Anything helps. All proceeds will go to the purchase of a beautiful engagement ring one that WE ALL can be proud of. Call me crazy but Love is Free Not Engagement Rings and Weddings.

While Oliver might make a few solid points, it is certainly not up to the couples family and friends to somehow prove how much they care about them by donating to a silly campaign. It is really asking an awful lot and just kind of awkward overall. The ‘Ring for Alexandra’ campaign has gone viral on Facebook since it was posted and has been shared numerous times, but that is definitely more to do with people poking fun at the couple rather than actually wanting to donate.

We can’t even believe that people have donated as much as they have, however we somehow get the feeling that Alexandra is going to end up a bit disappointed in the end, as something tells us that dear ol’ William will never make this $15,000 dream ring a reality.

Woman Has Insane Freak-Out Over A PDA And The Internet Watches

(PCM) A couple in Santa Monica, CA may have just captured the greatest viral freak-out video of all time. The innocent couple were just standing in line waiting to order take-out at a local area poke bowl restaurant when the woman in line in front of them paying for her food decided to have an intense melt-down over a slight PDA (Public Display Of Affection) that occurred between the couple.

The boyfriend, who ended up capturing the woman in film, claims that the PDA wasn’t even all that bad. All he did was keep his arms around his girlfriend and maybe kiss her on the top of her head once or twice. Apparently that was enough to cause the woman to completely lose it and prompted the boyfriend to get the camera rolling.

He posted the following description of the event that took place via Reddit:

Last night my girlfriend of four years and I were waiting patiently for a lady to order her food at this restaurant in Santa Monica, and I had my arms around her from behind and maybe kissed her on the top of the head once or twice, but that was the extent of it.Out of nowhere, the lady (who was finalizing her transaction) looks at us and exclaims emphatically how inappropriate PDA was and how uncomfortable it was making her. I thought she was joking because of how little we were actually making contact. I turned and kissed my girlfriend on the cheek and made a loud smack, and that’s where she really lost it. I immediately knew I had to get this on camera, so that’s about where the video picks up. We tried to stay as calm as possible. I was trying not to engage as I knew this lady was clearly nuts, but when she started calling my girlfriend a slut, whore, etc, and when she stepped closer to her, that’s when I started getting angry. In retrospect, I’m proud that we didn’t sink to her level or anything like that, but wish I would’ve said some more clever remarks. Oh also, I f**ked up by not filming in portrait mode – Sorry about that.

Man Creates A 100 mph Bumper Car

(PCM) Haven’t you always dreamed of flying around at approximately 100 mph in a bumper car? Well, if this happens to be your dream then you are in luck because an inventor by the name of Colin Furze has just created the world’s first bumper car that can reach speeds of 100 mph.

Furze’s YouTube channel is chock full of insane inventions that he has come up with and built using nothing but his own ingenuity. He posts videos of himself testing out these inventions with very little safety protocols put in place.

He was challenged by Top Gear to create the world’s fastest bumper car and from the looks of things he succeeded. Now, who wants to give this bad boy a spin?
