Lostprophets Singer Ian Watkins Pleads Guilty To Multiple Child Sex Offenses

Ian-Watkins1(PCM) Former lead singer of the band Lostprophets, Ian Watkins, has plead guilty to the attempted rape of a baby and multiple other child sex offenses.

While Watkins had previously denied the charges, he has know officially admitted to the crimes which are the attempted rape and sexual assault of a child under the age of 13, three counts of sexual assault involving children and six for taking, making, and possessing indecent images of children and one of possessing an extreme pornographic image involving a sex act on an animal.

In addition to Watkins, two female defendants also plead guilty to several sex offense against their own children. Officials claim that Watkins used his celebrity status to influence and exploit young children and that drugs may have played a major role in the abuse as well.

Lostprophets formed in 1997 and sold over 3.5 million albums worldwide. The group officially disbanded back in October and released the following statement:

After nearly a year of coming to terms with our heartache, we finally feel ready to announce publicly what we have thought privately for some time. We can no longer continue making or performing music as Lostprophets.”

Watkins will be formally charged on December 18th and he along with the two female defendants will remain in police custody until that time.
