(PCM) 50 to 1 is an against-the-odds underdog story about an unlikely horse with an unconventional team qualifying for the prized Kentucky Derby, in theaters on a limited run starting March 21st.
A misfit group of New Mexico cowboys find themselves on the journey of a lifetime when their crooked-footed racehorse qualifies for the Kentucky Derby. Based on the inspiring true story of Mine That Bird, the cowboys face a series of mishaps on their way to Churchill Downs, becoming the ultimate underdogs in a final showdown with the world’s racing elite.
Starring in 50 to 1 are Skeet Ulrich (Scream), Christian Kane (Leverage), William Devane (The Dark Knight Rises), Madelyn Deutch (Mayor Cupcake), Todd Lowe (True Blood), and David Atkinson (Surviving Christmas).
50 to 1 is directed by Jim Wilson, known for producing films such as 1990′s Dance With Wolves, 1992′s The Bodyguard, and 2007′s Mr. Brooks.
Fun Fact: Calvin Borel appears in the film as himself, the jockey for Mine That Bird.
50 to 1 is rated PG-13 for some suggestive material and a bar brawl.
