Emma Watson the New Little Mermaid?

EmmaWatsonLittleMermaidFAke(PCM) The internet has been buzzing with rumors of a remake of The Little Mermaid for a few years now, but a recent resurfacing of the rumor brought with it news of Emma Watson’s possible involvement.

Before you call all your fellow Harry Potter loving friends to spread the news, these rumors are false.

The rumor of an Emma Watson Little Mermaid remake was first started as an April Fool’s joke in 2013 on a Harry Potter fan site and quickly took off on the internet. Rumors of Watson starring alongside fellow Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe in the remake also spread like wildfire.

Since the last Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt. 2, Emma Watson has managed to distance herself from the fantasy genre with roles in My Week With Marilyn (2011), The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012), The Bling Ring (2013), This is the End (2013), and 2014′s Noah.

The young actress is supposedly attached to a long delayed live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast by Guillermo del Toro.

Guillermo del Toro is a well known director/producer/writer known for directing Pan’s Labyrinth (2006), Hell Boy (2004), and Pacific Rim (2013). Toro was just announced as the producer and director for the Jim Henson Company’s Pinocchio remake, starring Christopher Walken.

Sorry Harry Potter and Disney fans alike; it doesn’t look like Emma Watson will don red hair and enjoy life under the sea anytime soon.
