Grand Piano in Theaters March 7th

grandpiano(PCM) Moments before his comeback performance, a concert pianist who suffers from stage fright discovers a note written on his music sheet.

This is the plot of director Eugenio Mira’s Grand Piano, starring Elijah Wood, John Cusack, and Allen Leech.

Tom Selznick (Elijah Wood), the most talented pianist of his generation, stopped performing in public because of his stage fright. Years after a catastrophic performance, he reappears in public in a long-awaited concert in Chicago.

In a packed theater, in front of the expectant audience, Tom finds a message written on the score: “Play one wrong note and you die.” Without leaving the piano, Tom must discover the anonymous sniper’s motives and look for help without anyone realizing.

Grand Piano opened to positive reviews in Spain when it premiered in October of 2013. The movie currently has an 89% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes while it has a 6.1/10 on IMDB.

Grand Piano is Eugenio Mira’s fifth film; he previously directed 2 shorts and 2 other feature full length films. Mira is also a composer; he has lent his musical talents to six films.
