Stalingrad Hits U.S. Theaters February 28th

Stalingrad(PCM) If Monuments Men hasn’t satisfied your craving for historical WWII action dramas, head out to your local theater on February 28th and catch Sony’s action packed war film Stalingrad.

Though American audiences might not know the film’s lead off hand, they may recognize him from his roles in American film and TV: Thomas Kretschmann, who plays Hauptmann Kahn, has also appeared in Wanted, King Kong, and Resident Evil: Apocalypse, and 24.

Stalingrad also stars Yanina Studilina, Philippe Reinhardt, and Mariya Smolnikova.

Set during the early 1940′s, Stalingrad tells the epic story of the battle that changed the course of WWII.

A band of determined Russian soldiers fight to hold a strategic building in their devastated city against a ruthless German army, and in the process become deeply connected to two Russian women who have been living there.

Presented in IMAX 3D, the scale of the epic battle contrasts dramatically with the human drama of the Russian soldiers, the few remaining civilians, and their invaders into Stalingrad (C) Sony Pictures.

Stalingrad has a run time of 2 hours and 11 minutes and is rated R for sequences of war violence. Watch a trailer for the film below and catch it in theaters February 28th!
