(PCM) In The Face of Love, an IFC Spanish romance film out in U.S. theaters on a limited run on March 7th, a widow falls for a guy who bears a striking resemblance to her late husband.
The Face of Love is the story of a widow named Nikki (Annette Bening) who, several years after the loss of her husband Garrett, meets a man named Tom (Ed Harris) who looks exactly like her deceased husband. Suddenly, a flood of old feelings rush back to her: she’s met the love of her life. Again.
The film is a romantic story filled with humor, surprise, and reflections on the mystery of love surrounding us. Bening and Harris star, with an important supporting turn from Robin Williams as Nikki’s confidante and would-be lover.
Released in Spain in 2013, The Face of Love has already garnered positive reviews; the film’s IMDB score is 7.3/10.
Variety’s Justin Chang praised the stars’ performances in the film at the Toronto Film Festival, saying: “Annette Bening and Ed Harris bring potent conviction to this maudlin but strangely compelling psychological love story.”
The Face of Love has a run time of 92 minutes and is rated PG-13 for brief drug references. Watch the trailer below!
