(PCM) After seven years, White House pastry chef Bill Yosses has announced that he will be leaving The White House kitchen and is planning to move to New York City.
Yosses was hired by former First Lady Laura Bush back in 2007 and remained employed through the Obama administration. Yosses married his husband back in 2011 and plans to join him in New York to dedicate his “efforts to promote healthy eating with a ‘group and foundation of like-minded creative people’”.
First Lady Michelle Obama released a statement regarding Yosses’ departure calling it “incredibly sad” and going on to say the White House is ”grateful to him for his outstanding work, not just as the White House pastry chef, producing the most delectable creations … but also as a key partner helping us get the White House kitchen garden off the ground.”
Yosses was even given an incredibly adorable nickname by President Obama being referred to as “The Crustmaster”. A replacement for Yosses has yet to be named!
