(PCM) If you’re looking for something a little different this summer from all the blockbusters that will be crowding the theater and you don’t mind a good scare, then look no further than Screen Gem’s Deliver Us From Evil.
In Deliver Us From Evil, New York police officer Ralph Sarchie (Eric Bana), struggling with his own personal issues, begins investigating a series of disturbing and inexplicable crimes.
He joins forces with an unconventional priest (Edgar Ramirez), schooled in the rituals of exorcism, to combat the frightening and demonic possessions that are terrorizing their city.
Deliver Us From Evil is based upon the book, which details Sarchie’s bone-chilling real-life cases.
Deliver Us From Evil stars Eric Bana (Star Trek, Hulk), Olivia Munn (Magic Mike, Iron Man 2), Edgar Ramirez (The Bourne Ultimatum, Wrath of the Titans), Sean Harris (Prometheus, Harry Brown), and Joel McHale (Community, Ted).
If the movie is anything like its trailer, I’m going to watch the whole thing with my hands covering my eyes.
Deliver Us From Evil was written and directed by Scott Derrickson, who is a master of horror as it would seem; he has previously written and directed The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005), The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008), and Sinister (2012).
