(PCM) Summer is fast approaching and with it comes the action-packed box office hits known as “Summer Blockbusters.”
Among the many coming out this summer (The Amazing Spider-Man 2, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Godzilla, and Maleficent, just to name a few) is Transformers: Age of Extinction, in 2D and IMAX theaters nationwide June 27.
The fourth installment in director Michael Bay’s Transformers series stars Mark Wahlberg as an automobile mechanic who, along with his daughter, uncovers a discovery that catches the attention of the Decepticons, the Autobots, and a paranoid government official, bringing them all to his doorstep and igniting an unforeseen battle.
Starring alongside Mark Wahlberg are Jack Reynor (What Richard Did, Delivery Man), Nicola Peltz (The Last Airbender, Deck the Halls), Stanley Tucci (The hunger Games, The Terminal), Kelsey Grammer (Cheers, Toy Story 2), Sophia Myles (Underworld, Outlander), Li Bingbing (The Message, The Forbidden Kingdom), T.J. Miller (Cloverfield, How to Train Your Dragon), Han Geng (So Young, My Kingdom), and Titus Welliver (Argo, The Town).
Transformers: Age of Extinction follows 2011′s Transformers: Dark of the Moon, which got a rating of 56% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes and a 36% from critics.
Let’s hope Mark Wahlberg can bring some of that Oscar nominated acting and make the latest Transformers film a decent one! It’s also worth noting that this is the first film in the series to not star Shia LeBeouf.
