“Planes: Fire and Rescue” Hits Theaters July 18

PlanesFireAndRescue(PCM) The sequel to Disney’s 2013 Planes, Planes: Fire and Rescue opens in 2D and 3D theaters nationwide starting July 18!

When world-famous air racer Dusty learns that his engine is damaged and he may never race again, he must shift gears and is launched into the world of aerial firefighting.

Dusty joins forces with veteran fire and rescue helicopter Blade Ranger and his team, a bunch of all-terrain vehicles known as The Smokejumpers. Together, the fearless team battles a massive wildfire, and Dusty learns what it takes to become a true hero.

Planes: Fire and Rescue stars Dane Cook (Good Luck Chuck, Employee of the Month), Julie Bowen (Modern Family, Happy Gilmore), Ed Harris (A Beautiful Mind, Gravity), Regina King (Jerry Maguire, Ray), Jerry Stiller (Zoolander, Hairspray), Kari Wahlgren (Bolt, Tangled), Wes Studi (Heat, Avatar), Fred Willard (Wall-E, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy), Anne Meara (Like Mike, Night at the Museum), and Erik Estrada (CHiPs, Van Wilder: Party Liaison).

Director Roberts Gannoway has previously directed Disney’s TV series Timon and Pumbaa (1995-1996) and House of Mouse (2001-2002).

Let’s hope that Planes: Fire and Rescue, performs better than its predecessor; Planes only earned a rating of 26% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.
