(PCM) It has just been revealed today that The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers are making their return to the big screen for an all new live-action film.
Together, Lionsgate and Saban Brands announced the news via press release that stated The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers are headed back to theaters and fans would not have to wait very long for the new film.
There have already been two previous Power Rangers films, based on the hit television show, that were released in 1995 and 1997 respectively. The synopsis for the new film states “The new film franchise will re-envision the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, a group of high school kids who are infused with unique and cool super powers but must harness and use those powers as a team if they have any hope of saving the world.”
The release does disclose that there is a deep and detailed mythology surrounding The Power Rangers, but does not give any indications on the timeline or setting for the new film.
We are wondering if it will keep the classic setting or will be more modernized….looks like we will have to wait and see!
