Young Man Performs A Selfless Act To Help An Elderly Woman When Trapped In An Elevator

(PCM) A young man, Cesar Larios, turned himself into a human chair to assist an elderly woman after the two became trapped in an elevator for over half an hour.

When the elevator became stuck, Larios selflessly allowed the 79-year old elderly woman named Rita Young  to use his back as a chair so that she was able to stay off her feet. He promised the woman that he was there and that he was going to take care of her, so she would not be afraid. Larios claims he “felt like it was the right thing to do”. An image that was snapped that shows the elderly woman sitting on Larios back has since gone viral.

Larios, who works for College Hunks Hauling Junk, was on a job at a senior living facility when he and his co-worker became trapped in the elevator along with Young. After the photo was posted on the College Hunks Hauling Junk Facebook page with the caption “We’ll bend over backwards for you”, Larios’ boss released the following statement:

“I think what’s great about it is that it’s a genuine moment caught on camera. A lot of people say the younger generation has lost certain values. But one small picture shows that chivalry and hard work are still very much alive in our youth.”

It is refreshing to hear a story such as this one and know that despite what many may say, selflessness and chivalry is not completely obliterated from the younger generation.
