(PCM) Some great sounds have come out of the Colorado music scene over the past few years. The Lumineers and The Fray come to mind, but along with these Grammy award winning performers are the strong emerging artists forged in the majestic beauty of the Rocky Mountains.

Triple threat artist Lindsey Saunders impacted the 2013 national indie music scene after releasing her debut EP Nothing Normal in October 2012 at the age of 18. Her association with Broadstroke Records and producer Drew Sherrod enabled collaboration with notable artists such as Lisa Harriton (Smashing Pumpkins), Jason Ganberg, Gayle Day, Ido Sasson and Alex Balderston.

Songwriting for Lindsey’s next indie pop release is nearly complete though the musician has been on tour for much of 2013. Now that 2014 is nearly half in the bag, the pace for the indie songstress is only picking up speed.

Somehow during all of this performing and touring Saunders is preparing to release “Miles Before Sleep” – a composition in four movements originally written for the Catherine Tiso contemporary dance piece “Diverge/Connect” performed in Chicago last summer featuring the Texture Dance Company. Emotionally charged, the composition is a concept record chronicling the journey an individual takes in the process of living a life of meaning and joy.

Some listeners might ask how an an indie singer songwriter create meaningful music outside of the expected genre that has captured an audience. This young woman is not the normal performer breaking free of the pack in the music scene. Sit back, relax, and listen to the chillingly amazing musical joyride that is Lindsey Saunders without preconceived expectations – it will blow your mind.
