(PCM) Best known for her role as the lovable housekeeper Alice on The Brady Bunch, actress Ann B. Davis has suddenly passed away at the age of 88.

According to TMZ.com, Davis’ cause of death was due to a fall in the bathroom of her home. Sources claim that when she fell, she hit her head and never regained consciousness.

Her roommate claimed that Davis suffered no real health problems and that she even walked downstairs to say goodnight before heading to bed.

Davis portrayed the role of Alice Nelson for the entire length of The Brady Bunch original series which ran from 1969 to 1974. Over the years she has again revisited the role of Alice in multiple TV specials and reunion episodes of the series.

Davis was an active member of the church where she resided in Texas and there are currently funeral arrangements in the works.

Our sincere condolences go out to Davis’ loved ones during this difficult time.
