(PCM) Fans of the hit comedy film “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” are thrilled to learn that there has now been official confirmation that there is indeed a sequel in the works.
Writer and star of the original film Nia Vardalos confirmed that she is indeed working on the script and that now that she has had the chance to experience motherhood she is now ready to pen the next chapter of the story.
Vardalos tweeted “A few jaded press corps will claim I ran out of money or just want to kiss John Corbett again. One of these things is true”. John Corbett who played the non-Greek love interest of Vardalos’ is set to return for the sequel.
Vardalo’s says that the new script took her about four years to write and was shelved for awhile as she focused on caring for her adopted daughter and completing the tour for her book “Instant Mom”.
The only details that have leaked about the script so far is that it will once again focus on the Portokalos family and of course there will be another wedding!
