(PCM) An Ohio man by the name of Jeffrey Williamson could face up to six months in jail after being arrested and charged with child endangerment due to his son skipping church.
Williamson claims that the church van for The Woodville Baptist Church arrived at his home to pick up his children to take them to church. Williamson had assumed that all of his children had boarded the van to head to church, but it seems that his 8-year old son Justin never made it in the van.
Instead, Justin chose to play around the family’s neighborhood by himself and was eventually discovered at a local area Family Dollar store about a half mile away from the family’s home.
Employee’s at the Family Dollar called the police and claim that Justin did not know where he lived, but another customer recognized the child and knew his home address.
Police delivered Justin back to the Williamson home safely and then proceeded to arrest Williamson on charges of child neglect and endangerment right in front of his other childen as they were getting dropped back off from church.
Williamson claims he has lost his job at McDonald’s after the story ran in the local paper and his initial hearing is set for July 15th.
