(PCM) I scream, you scream, we all scream for….National Ice Cream Day is on July 20th! In fact, the entire month of July is known by some as Ice Cream month. What better way to celebrate than with some fun facts about our favorite cold and delicious treat!

According to Yahoo! the top five ice cream flavors are:
1. Strawberry
2. Banana
3. Chocolate
4 Coconut Milk
5. Peach

The top five cities that love ice cream the most are:
1. New York
2. Los Angeles
3. Chicago
4. San Francisco
5. Atlanta

The U.S. enjoys an average of 48 pints of ice cream per person, per year, more than any other country. (via Icecream.com)

It takes an average of 50 licks to polish off a single-scoop ice cream cone. (via Icecream.com)

The ice cream cone’s invention is linked to the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis. An ice cream vendor reportedly didn’t have enough dishes to keep up with the demand, so he teamed up with a waffle vendor who rolled his waffles into cones! (via Icecream.com
