Pd-ID1

(PCM) There is a new device that is getting ready to come onto the market that has the ability to protect women and men from date rape.  The device works with your cell phone and will send an alert via text message if your drink has been tampered with while you are out.

The new device and mobile app is called pd.id or Personal Drink ID, and it has the ability to analyze the contents of your drink to let you know if it is safe. The device will send an alert to your phone if your drink has been compromised.

The device itself will be very small, about 3.5 inches and will also be reusable.

The company behind pd.id is still attempting to raise the financial capitol to get the product out on the market and the proposed price would be about $75 for the device, while the app would be free.

The mobile app plans to use GPS technology to create a map of places where the date rape drug has been found and wishes to partner with police departments to help with sexual assault prevention. A portion of the sales for pd.id would be given to organizations that assist with sexual assault prevention.
