(PCM) A noodle vendor in China was recently apprehended and charged with knowingly serving drug-laced noodles to his customers.The man admitted to using powdered poppy plant to season his dishes and the idea was to keep his customers coming back for more.
The vendor purchased about 2kg of the powdered poppy plant back in August for the price of about one hundred dollars. He added the substances to his noodles to make them taste better and of course grow his business.
The plot may have gone on undetected for quite some time, however recently a young man was stopped by the police as he was driving his vehicle. They tested him for drugs and discovered that he had opiates in his system. The drug test was taken not long after he had consumed a bowl of the opium-laced noodles.
The young man was held by police on the drug charges for 15 days and then when he was released to his family they explained to the police that they had eaten at the same restaurant as well and all tested positive for opium-use.
The noodle vendor is not the first case of drug-laced food to pop up in China, however autorities
