“The Good Lie” Brings Good Feels to Theaters Starting Oct. 3

The_Good_Lie_1(PCM) Oscar buzz is already building around Reese Witherspoon for her role in Warner Bros. Pictures’ The Good Lie, an inspiring drama based on real events.

They were known simply as “The Lost Boys.”

Orphaned by the brutal Civil war in Sudan that began in 1983, these young victims traveled as many as a thousand miles on foot in search of safety.

Fifteen years later, a humanitarian effort would bring 3600 lost boys and girls to America.

In The Good Lie, Philippe Falardeau, (writer and director of the Oscar®- nominated Foreign Language film Monsieur Lazhar) brings the story of their survival and triumph to life.

Sudanese actors Arnold Oceng, GerDuany, Emmanuel Jal, and newcomer Nyakuoth Weil, many of whom were also children of war, star alongside Academy Award® winner Reese Witherspoon and Corey Stoll.

The Hollywood Reporter praised The Good Lie at the Toronto Film Festival as “a touching, generous-hearted movie, sensitively directed by Philippe Falardeau (Monsieur Lazhar) working with a smart, sly, long-gestated script by Margaret Nagle (Boardwalk Empire).”

The Good Lie currently has a 7.7/10 rating on IMDb and a certified fresh rating of 67% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Good Lie opens in theaters nationwide starting October 3; watch the trailer below and visit the official site for more info!
