(PCM) Millennium Entertainment’s comedy, Elsa & Fred, stars Christopher Plummer and Shirley MacLaine and opens in select theaters November 7, 2014.
Elsa & Fred is the story of two people who, at the end of the road, discover that it’s never too late to love and make dreams come true.
Elsa has lived for the past 60 years dreaming of a moment that Fellini had already envisaged: the scene in ‘La Dolce Vita’ at the Fontana di Trevi.
The same scene without Anita Ekberg in it, but with Elsa instead. Without Marcello Mastroiani but with that love that took so long to arrive.
Fred is a bit younger than Elsa and has always been a good man who did everything he was supposed to do. After losing his wife, he feels disturbed and confused and his daughter decides that it would be best if he moves into a smaller apartment where he ends up meeting Elsa.
Starring alongside Academy Award winners Shirley MacLaine (Terms of Endearment) and Christopher Plummer (A Beautiful Mind) are Academy Award winner Marcia Gay Harden (Mystic River), Chris North (HBO’s Sex and the City), Scott Bakula (American Beauty), George Segal (Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?), James Brolin (Catch Me If You Can), Erika Alexander (Deja Vu), and Wendell Pierce (HBO’s The Wire).
Elsa & Fred is written and directed by Michael Radford (Nineteen Eighty-Four, Il Postino: The Postman) alongside co-writer Anna Pavignano (Il Postino: The Postman, Casomai).
