(PCM) Netflix announced this past weekend that they will be partnering with Leonardo DiCaprio and his Appian Way Productions for Virunga, an investigative documentary that follows park rangers in Africa’s oldest national park as they encounter dangerous hardships and heartbreak as they endeavor to protect the park’s endangered mountain gorillas and the surrounding community from imminent warfare.
Virunga will be released in New York and Los Angeles theaters on November 7 as well as on Netflix in all territories where Netflix is available.
“Films like Virunga are powerful stories that are a window into the incredible cultural and natural diversity of our world, the forces that are threatening to destroy it, and the people who are fighting to protect it,” said DiCaprio, who is serving as executive producer on the film. “Partnering with Netflix on this film is an exciting opportunity to inform and inspire individuals to engage on this topic.”
