Marvel Announces Phase Three Plans: Captain Marvel, Inhumans, and Black Panther

CaptainMarvel(PCM) It’s only been a few hours since the news broke and already the internet is aflame; Marvel has announced plans to release three new and exciting films for 2017 and 2018; Black PantherCaptain Marvel, and Inhumans.

Slated for release on November 3, 2017, Black Panther will star rising actor Chadwick Boseman. Boseman received major critical acclaim for his recent performance as Jackie Brown in Tate Taylor’s biopic, Get On Up. In his review of the film, David Denby of the New Yorker praised Boseman, writing “Chadwick Boseman gives a startling and galvanic performance.”

Christy Lemire of ChristyLemire.com also commended Boseman’s performance: “In Boseman’s hands – and his feet, and his entire body, for thatBlackPanther matter – he demands and earns our attention.”

Black Panther saw its first shot of making it to the silver screen in the ’90s when Wesley Snipes expressed an earnest interest in creating a live action film adaption of the first black superhero in mainstream American comics.

Fans will get to see Chadwick Boseman in action as Black Panther in Captain America: Civil War, set to open on May 6, 2016. Black Panther‘s screenplay is currently being scripted by Mark Bailey, writer of documentaries Ghosts of Abu Ghraib (2007) and Ethel (2012).

Another cause for joy and excitement is the announcement for a Carol Danvers Captain Marvel film scheduled for a July 6, 2018 release and an Inhumans film, scheduled for November 2, 2018.
