(PCM) There has been a ton of speculation about whether or not fans would ever see another Pee-Wee Herman film, however now it seems those rumors can finally be put to rest.
Actor Paul Reubens, who portrays the lovable Pee-Wee Herman, revealed that at new film is “imminent” and fans will not have to wait much longer for an official announcement.
Reubens recently spoke with Rolling Stone in support of the new box set released by Shout Factory that is made up of all five seasons of the cult hit Saturday morning show “Pee-Wee’s Playhouse” that aired from 1986 to 1991.
Reubens claims that an announcement has been on the way for months and months and that the new film will be “amazing”. Reubens who is now 62- years old, is still best known for his role as the grey-suited, red bow-tie Pee-Wee Herman and the show featured a cast of adorable claymation animals, a quirky house, odd neighbors and of course that famous chair.
Ruebens also personally supervised all work that was done on the newly released box set which hit stores on Oct.21st. We can’t wait to hear about this “imminent” movie announcement and wonder if Judd Apatow is still currently on-board to direct. Be sure to stay tuned!
