(PCM) Thanksgiving is finally here and we have put together a list of some of our favorite songs that are all about being thankful.
They are sure to put you in the right frame of mind to celebrate the spirit of the holiday and will be the perfect soundtrack to a truly grateful Thanksgiving surrounded by family and friends.
1. Thank U – Alanis Morissette
The track was written after Morrisette returned home from a journey to India with her mother and a few friends. It is a reflection of the gratitude she experienced during her journey.
2. Thank You – Dido
Dido wrote the track to express her feelings about her then boyfriend and despite the fact that the couple has since split, the song still holds a thankful and hopeful message.
3. Someone Saved My Life Tonight – Elton John
You can truly feel the raw emotion and sensitivity along with a deep sense of gratitude within Elton’s vocals.
4. Shelter From The Storm – Bob Dylan
Dylan inspires us to be thankful for the protection we feel within our community and surrounded by our friends.
5. Thank You – Boyz II Men
There is no mystery here. Boyz II Men get right to the point and show their extreme gratitude with this heartfelt track.
6. Thank You, Thank You, You’re Far To Kind – Jay Z
Jay-Z released this track as a thank you message to his fans. Maybe a little egotistical but the message of gratitude towards fans is quite apparent.
7. Thank You For Being A Friend – Andrew Gold
There is no way we could leave this classic track about the gratitude of friendship off this list. Most people will recognize it as the theme to the hit TV series “The Golden Girls”.
