(PCM) The hype for the J.J. Abrams helmed Star Wars reboot, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, has been steadily mounting since the official cast was announced back in April of 2014.
The seventh installment in the Star Wars series, Star Wars: The Force Awakens won’t open in theaters for another year, but that hasn’t slowed the excitement from fans.
In an annoucnement that delighted Stars Wars and movie fans alike, director J.J. Abrams tweeted from the official Bad Robot Twitter account that 100 theaters around the nation would screen the 88-second teaser trailer on Friday, November 28.

The trailer will also appear on iTunes Movie Trailers on Friday, though a premiere time has yet to be specified.

Star Wars: Episode VII is slated to open in theaters December 18, 2015 and is directed by J.J. Abrams and is produced by Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk. Lawrence Kasdan, the script-writer behind Empire Strikes Back, returns to the series to script The Force Awakens. Academy Award-winning composer Jon Williams is also returning to the series.
Taking place 30 years after Empire Strikes Back, Star Wars: The Force Awakens stars Harrison Ford, Andy Serkis, Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker, Peter Mayhew, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Oscar Isaac, Max von Sydow, Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Lupita Nyong’o, Crystal Clarke, Pip Anderson, Christina Chong, and Miltos Yerolemou.
