(PCM) Imagine having a hot coffee and yummy pastry delivered straight to your desk without ever having to leave this office. This vision could soon become a reality with the launch of Starbucks new delivery service.
While the company has not released very many details about the new service, they did say that they have plans to launch the new delivery service in certain target market by the end of next year.
Starbucks also said that they plan to offer the service to members of their loyalty club and you will be able to place your orders for delivery through the Starbucks mobile order and pay app.
Another benefit to the app, other than delivery service, is that customers can place and pay for their orders prior to arriving at the store. This will significantly cut down on customers wait times in long lines for their orders to be completed.
The company told CNBC that the reason for the launch of both the delivery service and the order/pay ahead app is to adapt to the shifting behaviors of consumers, which seem to lean towards wanting to shop online rather than in a store.
