Teens Sarcastically Use Hash Tag #ThanksMichelleObama To Vent About Gross School Lunches

(PCM) Teens across the nation have sarcastically began using the hash tag #ThanksMichelleObama to vent their frustrations and utter disgust with the very gross and unappetizing “healthy” lunch options being offered in their schools.

Seriously, a lot of the food pictured in the images posted by the teens on social media looks like some kind of animal slop, certainly not an appetizing and healthy lunch that we would expect our school children to be receiving. School lunches have to comply with the USDA food regulations which are highly supported by First Lady Michelle Obama who continues her fight against childhood obesity. It seems now that teens are getting fed up with their disgusting looking options and are beginning to demand higher quality and more appetizing food. We are curious to see how the power of social media will play out in this particular scenario.

According to Buzzfeed, Michelle Obama said that she would fight until the bitter end to make sure that every kid in this country continues to have the best nutrition that they can have. The USDA regulations limit the amount of calories, fat, sugar and sodium that can be contained in the meal.

The “healthy” food options appear to be backfiring however and many students are refusing to eat lunch at all which in turn causes the schools to lose money. We definitely can’t say we blame them!  Those meals look nasty!
