(PCM) It’s less than a year away from the scheduled August 1, 2015 release date for 20th Century Fox’s The Fantastic Four reboot and there’s very little to show for it.
Up until now, there was only an official cast to speculate with, no synopsis, poster, trailer, or even official set photos. 20th Century Fox has answered Fantastic Four fans’ prayers and finally released the official synopsis, which states:
The Fantastic Four,” a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.
Directed by Chronicle‘s Josh Trank, The Fantastic Four stars Kate Mara The Invisible Woman, Miles Teller as Mr. Fantastic, Jamie Bell as The Thing, Michael B. Jordan as The Human Torch, Toby Kebbell as Victor Domashev, aka Dr. Doom, Tim Blake Nelson as Harvey Elder, aka the Mole Man, and Reg E. Cathey as Dr. Franklin Storm.
The Fantastic Four comes from the story by Josh Trank and Jeremy Slater along with co-writer X-Men: Days of Future Past writer Simon Kinberg with a revision by The Maze Runner writer T.S. Nowlin.
