(PCM) There was a recent report on National Public Radio that brought to light an idea that was being discussed by U.S. counter-terrorism officials that would include a ban on carry-on baggage.

A TSA spokesperson claims that at this time they are not anticipating any further changes to the carry-on bag policies that are already in place. The discussion about the possible ban on carry-on bags was allegedly sparked by the possibility of small computer bombs that were among alleged threats by Al-Qaeda against commercial flights.

British counter-terrorism experts recently uncovered a plot by the terror organization to carry bombs onto planes and blow up five commercial jets during what they are labeling the Christmas “spectacular”.  The NPR report went on to say that the plot did not appear to include any flights that were bound for the United States, as the plot was mostly aimed at European flights.

Many people have expressed their concern about the possible carry-on ban claiming that travel with nothing would be nothing short of torturous.

In addition the TSA spokesperson also said that TSA will continue to adjust its security measures to ensure the highest levels of aviation security without unnecessary disruption to travelers”.
