(PCM) We are sure that Sony is scrambling to find out whoever was behind the recent leak where five of the studios brand-new, unreleased films were uploaded online and have already been downloaded millions of times.
Thus far all that is known is that cyber pirates hacked into Sony Entertainment and shared at least five new films, all of which are water-marked by the studio and uploaded them to various filing sharing websites.
A spokesperson for Sony claims that they are treating this incident as a criminal matter and are currently working very closely with law enforcement officers to locate the guilty party.
The film’s that were leaked include the Brad Pitt war-drama “Fury” which is still currently in theaters, the previously unreleased remake of “Annie” which is set to hit theaters in three weeks, along with “Mr. Turner”, “Still Alice” and “To Write Love On Her Arms”. The studio also said there could possibly be more that have just not yet made their way onto the web.
The news of the leaked films comes after a cyber attack on the studio’s corporate systems during which an image of a skeleton appeared on the company computer screens with a message that read “Hacked by #GOP”, which stands for Guardians Of Peace. The hackers also threatened to reveal many secrets about the company.
