(PCM) Parents who were shopping at the Pak n’ Save grocery store in New Zealand are freaking out because they mistakenly fed their children dog treats and are now blaming it on the packaging and store placement.
The parents, who were obviously in a hurry, ended up grabbing a box of Scooby Snacks, which are sausage flavored dog treats, without fully reading the box. The parents claim that the Scooby Snacks which are packaged in a brightly colored box with a picture of cartoon character Scooby Doo were places in the same aisle as the human snack food products.
We could see how this could get a little confusing, but seriously, it is clearly written on the bottom of the box “For Large Dogs”. Guess they think that anything with bright packaging and cartoon character must certainly been for kids, right?
The parents ended up feeding the dog treats to their children and then posted on the Pak n’ Save Facebook page claiming they were mortified by the mistake and urged the store to please change the display. A spokesperson for Pak n’ Save commented saying, “On reflection, we can see how the cartoon characters on the packaging might be confusing. We apologize for any distress this has caused to anyone who bought the product by mistake and will happily offer a refund to any customer in this position.”
Word to the wise parents! Read all packaging very carefully before just blinding handing out snacks to your children! Jinkies!
