At Last, Patty Jenkins Is Officially Confirmed To Direct ‘Wonder Woman 2’

(AOTN) There were many rumors swirling about whether or not director Patty Jenkins would be once again taking the helm to direct “Wonder Woman 2” after the amazing success that the first “Wonder Woman” earned in the box office. It almost felt like it should be a no-brainer!

Warner Bros. has now officially confirmed that Patty Jenkins will definitely be directing “Wonder Woman 2” making her the highest paid female director in Hollywood, at least according to several sources. “Wonder Woman” brought in over $813 million for the studio with it’s release worldwide and in the process smashed many records along the way.

“Wonder Woman” became the highest grossing live-action film directed by a female, the highest grossing DC Extended Universe film, the highest grossing superhero origin film domestically and of course, hands down the winner of the summer movie season, as “Wonder Woman” was praised equally be fans and critics alike.

The “Wonder Woman” sequel was announced almost immediately after the film was released and Jenkins and DC Films co-head Geoff Johns have already been hard at work on the script. Star Gal Gadot has already signed on to reprise her leading role, so it appears now that all the pieces for another successful film have been put in place.

“Wonder Woman 2” is slated for release on December 13, 2019.
