Texas trio Midland earns the #1 spot on Billboard’s Top Country Album Sales chart with their debut release ON THE ROCKS (Big Machine Records). The achievement comes merely weeks after the band landed atop the Country radio airplay chart with their debut, GOLD-certified single “Drinkin’ Problem.” Radio continues to embrace Midland’s modern throwback sound in a big way by making the band’s second single, “Make A Little,” the most added song on playlists from coast-to-coast for two consecutive weeks. The music video for “Make A Little” is now available as well, watch below.
With ON THE ROCKS, lead singer Mark Wystrach, bass player/singer Cameron Duddy and guitarist/singer Jess Carson continue the hard Country pioneered by Dwight Yoakam, the Desert Rose Band and Marty Stuart, earning them the title of “revivalists” by NPR’s Ann Powers. Guitars tangle, steels melt and the banjo marks classic Country sounds on the 13-song collection that Midland co-wrote withGRAMMY award-winning writer/producer Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne. Fans can catch Midland out with Jon Pardi on CMT On Tour this fall before they hit the road with Little Big Town and Kacey Musgraves in early 2018.
