COMING ATTRACTIONS: NAILS
A TRAUMATIZED WOMAN BECOMES TRAPPED IN HER OWN BODY AND TERRORIZED BY AN EVIL SPIRIT THAT NO ONE ELSE CAN SEE. The Psychological Horror Film Comes to Theaters, VOD and Digital Platforms This Fall
Recovering after a terrible accident, a woman is exposed to a dark and malevolent spirit who is intent on her destruction in the gripping horror film NAILS, which will be released in select US theaters and on digital platforms by Dark Sky Films on November 17, 2017. NAILS will also have a special theatrical premiere at the historic Grauman’s Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood on October 25, 2017.
NAILS is the stunning directorial debut of Dennis Bartok, a screenwriter, author, journalist and film company executive. His edge-of-the-seat drama, co-written by Tom Abrams, centers on Dana Milgrom (Shauna Macdonald, Filth, Moon Dogs), a track coach and mother who has survived a near-death car accident, only to find herself paralyzed and trapped inside her own body. While struggling to regain control of her life, Dana is confronted with a vindictive spirit; a terrifying presence called Nails, whom she is convinced exists inside her hospital room
.
Faced with skepticism from her husband, doctors and the staff, and believed to be suffering from a mental breakdown, Dana is left struggling to keep her grip on reality as the targeted attacks grow increasingly violent. To save her marriage and her life, Dana must find a way to convince her family that Nails is real before he succeeds in destroying her and everyone who stands in his way.
The cast of NAILS includes actor-comedian Ross Noble (Ross Noble: Freewheeling), Leah McNamara (Vikings), Steve Wall (Dominion Creek), director Dennis Bartok and Richard Foster-King (It Never Sleeps). It is from the award-winning production company Fantastic Films (The Hallow, Let Us Prey, Wake Wood) and the executive producer of Assault on Precinct 13.
Kim Newman of Empire magazine said NAILS has “a penchant for creep-out scares involving its looming specter; and a committed, sympathetic performance from Macdonald.”
COMING ATTRACTIONS: SUPERSTITION centers around the Hastings family, owners of the only funeral home in the mysterious town of La Rochelle, Georgia. The family also acts as the keepers of the town’s dark secrets and history. Known for its haunted houses, elevated graveyards, odd townsfolk, and rich history of unusual phenomena, the town is also a “landing patch” for the world’s darkest manifestations of fear, guided into the world by an ancient, mysterious malefactor. XLrator Media’s Barry Gordon and MVPTV’s Mario Van Peebles (“Roots,” “Bloodline,” “Hand of God,” “Empire,” “Lost”) will produce, and Van Peebles will also write, direct and star in some of the episodes. Joel Anderson Thompson(“Battlestar Galactica,” “Boomtown,” “House M.D.”) has been tapped as showrunner and Laurence Andries (“Alias,” “Six Feet Under,” “Supernatural,” “The Pacific”) will executive produce.
Episode 101 – “Pilot” – Premieres Friday, October 6 at 10/9c
Calvin Hastings returns home to reconnect with his family, but the reunion is cut short by a string of killings instigated by a supernatural villain only Calvin & his family can take down.
