The Flash Keeps Up the Fun With Episode 2 “Mixed Feelings”

Warning : Potential Spoilers Ahead

After a dark and emotional season 3, The Flash witnessed a complete 360-degree change in its tone. The series started to up its fun quotient in season 4 so far with each and every passing episode. This week’s episode “Mixed Feelings” hooks us by its charm, with the showrunners sending a loud and clear signal about their new approach.

The episode starts with an enjoyable sequence of Barry (Grant Gustin) showing of his dancing skills from the Glee days. I really started loving this new improved attitude of Barry. Season four is also doing a much better job handling relationships. Whether it was Barry/Iris or the new entry Cisco/Gypsy, the lovebirds need some advice and Catilin who is a pro in these matters is happy to sort them out. She even suggested Iris for a couple therapy.

“Mixed Feelings” also introduces a new meta by the name of Killgore as the villain. Killgore is essentially a living tech virus, (but wait he was not present in the central city four ago at the time particle accelerator accident. What???). He hacks Flashs’ special suit prepared by Cisco and literally blasts it off. The CGI work for the sequences is top notch and my personal favorite one is Barry saving Joe from a blast. We also witness an epic roster of 12 new Metahumans, which I am very excited to see. There is also a small reference about the next episode of Arrow which is brilliant.

Liked :

  1. Barry’s Cool Suit,
  2. Cisco and Gyspy’s 1-1-1 day,
  3. The whole therapy session,
  4. CGI effects for The flash’s running and Saving Joe from Bomb Blast.
  5. The Babel Protocol ( A reference to the Justice League the Tower of Babel).

Disliked :

  1. The title of the episode (I Rather prefer Couple’s Therapy as the Title),
  2. The same old revenge plot by the metahuman.

Overall, I feel like The Flash is right on the mark, with what it is trying accomplish. I am happy that the show continues to stick to its entertainer tag and hope that we see more comic-related plots lines and references as the fourth season progresses.

This weeks cast:
Regular – Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Carlos Valdes, Danielle Panabaker, Jesse L. Martin, and Keiynan Lonsdale.
Guests – Dominic Burgess, Jessica Camacho.
Director – Alexandra La Roche
