Just as San Diego Comic-con gets underway, The Umbrella Academy creator Gerard Way has released the first image for Netflix’s live-action series of the same name. Way released the image via Instagram which teases the dysfunctional family.
The image above shows 6 of the 7 siblings that make up The Umbrella Academy. Hello Goodbye is a reference to a popular Beatles hit song.
Meet the Hargreeves:
Number 1 is Luther aka Spaceboy played by Tom Hopper.
Number 2 is Diego aka The Kraken played by David Castañeda
Number 3 is Allison aka The Rumor played by Emmy Raver-Lampman
Number 4 is Klaus aka The Séance played by Robert Sheehan
Number 5 is well Number 5 (yeah, that’s his name) aka the Boy played by Aidan Gallagher
Number 7 is Vanya aka the Violin played by Ellen Page
Missing is Number 6 Ben aka The Horror whose disappearance is part of the storyline in the comics.
The Umbrella Academy is a comic series published by Dark Horse Comics and created by former My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way and artist Gabriel Bá. The series centered the Hargreeves family, a family of extraordinary beings with special abilities. The team struggles to get along while trying to save the world.
Just last week, Gerard Way shared art of the upcoming “The Umbrella Academy: Hotel Oblivion” which is set to hit comic shelves this Fall. Hotel Oblivion will be the third series in the comic book’s existence.
The series is set to stream on Netflix in 2019.
