We had the recent opportunity to attend famed musician Glenn Hughes recent concert at The Queen in Wilmington, Delaware and were absolutely thrilled. Hughes is a true music icon, as the former bassist and singer of Deep Purple and front man for the music super group Black Country Communion.
Hughes is a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and without a doubt one of the remaining true voices of rock n’ roll! It was a treat to have him bring the spirit of Deep Purple alive once again, as Hughes performed only Deep Purple tracks with his current “Glenn Hughes Performs Classic Deep Purple Live” tour!
It was amazing to witness Hughes returning to his early roots and dust off all of those classic songs he recorded with the band over forty years ago. Hughes, has showed zero signs of slowing down and his musicianship and stage presence completely blew us away.
Fans were treated to favorites such as “Might Just Take Your Life”, “You Fool No One” and “Mistreated” to name a few and of course the show would not be complete without “Smoke On The Water” paired with “Georgia On My Mind” and the encore that consisted of “Highway Star” and “Burn”!
It was a truly memorable evening of fantastic tunes with a true music icon! Check out our gallery of images from the show below:
